artist statement: a state of flux

In my work, my aim is to allow those viewing to take a deeper look into what immediately meets the eye. When creating a piece, I explore the grey areas between the black and white of what is known through the use of paint juxtaposed with digital projection. The idea of static mingling with movement is a key element in my work, which adds an aspect of familiarity, yet remains quite foreign when these ideas are layered together. I established this concept in order to mimic the idea that nothing is ever fully understood when seen solely from surface-level; Everything that exists is in a constant state of flux—a state of change and non-permanence.  Everything that is, is temporary, and in my pieces, I work to capture that fleeting moment of uncanny magic.
